Houses
A house is a locked room that belongs to you: you shut the door, keep things
inside, and they are still there when you come back. Twenty-five of them stand on
the island. Everything below is typed in the chat — there is no button.
Buying
- Stand in front of the door of a house with no owner and say
/buyhouse.
- You need a Premium Account and level 30, and an account can own only one
house.
- The price is 50 gold for each floor tile of the house, taken from the gold
you are carrying.
Rent
- The rent is monthly and each house has its own: from 1,000 to 2,000
gold.
- It comes out by itself: first from your bank balance — the gold
you keep with Eva, the banker — then from the gold you carry, then from
your depot.
- If none of them covers it, one letter a day lands in your depot saying how many
days are left. After seven letters the house goes back to having no
owner.
- Nothing is destroyed. What was inside goes to your depot (furniture folds
back into kits), whoever is inside is taken to the entrance, and the guest
lists are wiped.
Who gets in, and who touches things
- Owner: everything, and edits every list.
- Sub-owner: gets in, moves and opens what is inside, and can invite
guests.
- Guest: gets in, but cannot move or open anything inside.
- Anyone on no list does not get past the door.
Inside the house, say aleta sio (guests), aleta som
(sub-owners — owner only) or aleta grav (who opens a given door). A
window opens where you write the names, one per line.
Furniture
The House section of the in-game store sells furniture. Most of it
comes as a kit: use it on a free spot inside your own house to unfold it. Right
click a piece and choose Wrap to fold it back into a kit — only the
owner can, and only if it is empty. Cabinets, plants, carpets and floors are
ordinary items you pick up by hand.
Butler
- The Butler, in the House section of the in-game store, comes
folded into a lamp. Use the lamp on a free spot inside your own
house to place him. One butler per house.
- Say trade: he sells everything the shops of Rookgaard sell, at the
same prices, and also buys from you.
- He only serves whoever is inside the house and on one of its lists: owner,
sub-owners and guests.
- Only the owner dresses him (say outfit), drags him to another spot
— never out of the house or into a doorway — and folds him back
into the lamp (say dismiss).
Pets
- A house can also keep a cat, a dog and an owl — one of each. Use the
kit on a free spot inside your own house; the pet stays there and speaks
to whoever walks up to it.
- Only the owner folds it back: stand next to it and say wrap. The
kit goes to your Store Inbox.
Notice board
- Set in a house, the notice board takes messages from the owner, the
sub-owners and the guests; anyone else can only read it.
- Write below the messages already there. Each new one is signed with your
name and the date, and holds up to 200 characters. When the board is full,
the oldest messages go first.
- Only the owner can clear it or change what others wrote.
If the house changes owner — given back, handed over or lost for the
rent — the butler and the pets leave with it and do not come back as
kits. Fold them up first.
Giving it up or handing it over
- /leavehouse gives the house back; what was inside goes to your
depot.
- /sellhouse name passes the house to another player, as a sale or as
a gift.
Selling or giving a house, step by step
- Both of you must be online and within two tiles of each other. No
character on the other player's account may own a house.
- Say /sellhouse followed by their name, for example
/sellhouse Darcy Ribeiro. A trade window opens with the house
deed.
- To give it away, they accept and so do you. To sell it, agree on the price
first: the game does not move any gold, so they pay you before the
trade.
- When both accept, the house is theirs. What you left inside goes to your
depot, and anyone inside is moved out.
