Bestiary and charms

The Bestiary counts every creature you kill and, kill by kill, reveals what it carries. Finishing a creature earns charm points, and charms are spent on the creatures you hunt the most. Both live in the same window, on the Bestiary and Charm tabs.

What counts

  • The kill goes to whoever lands the last hit — for a summon, its owner. With no last hit, it goes to whoever did the most damage.
  • Only creatures that live on the island are listed. One you have never killed shows as Unknown, in silhouette.
  • A bestiary bettermentBestiary Betterment makes every kill count twice for one hour. During an event every kill also counts twice, and with both, four times.

Stages

  • Every creature has three stages: 500, 1,000 and 5,000 kills.
  • The first stage reveals its common loot; the second, the uncommon loot; the third, the rare loot and the attributed pieces it can drop.
  • The rare versions have their own count and shorter stages: 250, 500 and 1,000 kills with one star; 50, 100 and 200 with two; 25, 50 and 100 with three.
  • Each creature has a difficulty from one to five skulls, set by its health and defense.

Charm points

  • Taking the common version of a creature to 5,000 kills earns charm points by its difficulty: 5, 10, 15, 25 or 50.
  • The points belong to the character. The window shows how many are still free to spend.

Charms

  • A charm is unlocked once, with charm points, and stays unlocked for good.
  • Then it is set on one creature you have finished in the Bestiary. Each charm goes on one creature, and each creature takes one charm.
  • Taking a charm off a creature costs 100 gold per character level, and leaves the charm free to set again.
  • Where the table says 10%, the charm rolls that chance every time. When a charm fires, the console tells you in orange.
