The island is small: what you do today, the same people remember tomorrow.
These are the rules, and they apply to everybody.
1. Names
- a) Offensive name. A name that insults, humiliates, or is
racist, sexual, drug-related or used to harass somebody.
- b) Name with advertising. A name that advertises a brand,
a product, a third party service or another server.
- c) Unsuitable name. A name that states a religious or
political position.
- d) Invalid format. A name that is part of a sentence, a
nonsensical letter combination ("Ehaushsid") or badly formatted
("Ma-th'eus").
- e) Name inciting rule breaking. For example, "Bot".
- f) Fake staff name. A name pretending to be
administration or part of the system, such as "Adm" or "GM".
2. Statements
- a) Offensive statement. Insults, racism, sexual content,
drugs, harassment. Threatening somebody in real life is the gravest case
on this page.
- b) Spamming. Repeating the same statement over and over,
or writing nonsensical text.
- c) Advertising. Advertising a brand, a product or another
server.
- d) Off-topic public statement. Religion, politics or
anything unrelated to the channel in use.
- e) Personal data of others. Disclosing anybody's personal
data.
- f) Supporting rule breaking. Statements that incite,
announce or help to break any rule on this page.
- g) Destructive behavior. Any use of the game that breaks
its dynamics to the detriment of the world or of somebody. This list does
not cover everything: new behavior doing the same damage belongs here.
- h) Blocking protection zones. Using your character, alone
or with others, to close the way in or out of the temple and the
shops.
- i) Blocking the way on the island. Closing a corridor,
a ladder or a hunting entrance so that nobody can pass.
- j) Stalls. One stall per person in the same place: using
more than one character to open a stall at the same spot is not
allowed.
3. Cheating
- a) Bug abuse. Exploiting an error of the game, the client
or the site instead of reporting it. Found a way to duplicate an item or
walk through a wall? Report it — using it is the fastest way
out.
- b) Unofficial software. Changing the client or using
outside programs to play, including running the client inside a virtual
machine.
- c) More than one character online. One person, one
character online — no matter how many machines or connections you
have. Extra accounts to hold items or to keep a respawn belong here, and
so does leaving the client to log in with another character while the
first one is still online.
- d) Automation. Bots, macros, scripts, or any way of making
the character act without a person in control.
- e) VPN, VPS and proxies. Using a VPN, a VPS or a proxy
(exitlag, noping and the like) to stay online, make runes or hold a trap
is not allowed.
- f) Account sharing. An account belongs to one person.
Lending it, splitting it, selling it or trading its access is not
allowed, and whoever lends answers for what the other one does with
it.
4. False information
- a) Pretending to be staff. Claiming to represent Rookhard
or to have staff powers.
- b) Slandering Rookhard. Publishing clearly wrong
information about the world or calling for a boycott of it.
- c) False report. Deliberately giving wrong information in
a report, a complaint or a support request.
- d) Threatening the staff. Threats stated or implied
against the staff, and any attempt to apply pressure through
blackmail.
- e) False information in general. Making up facts about the
staff or about the world.
5. Legal issues
- a) Account theft. Stealing an account through fake links,
somebody else's password, or any attempt to get where you do not
belong.
- b) Attacking the service. Attacking, disrupting or
damaging the world, the site or any part of Rookhard.
- c) Payments. Chargebacks and payments of fraudulent
origin block the account.
- d) Law and third party rights. Violating the law, the
Rookhard terms or somebody else's rights.
6. Gameplay
- a) Player killing. Killing someone who did not fight back
has a price, and the world itself charges it: hunting unarmed players
leads to a red skull and to banishment by the numbers below.
- b) Hogging a respawn. Holding a hunting ground with an
idle character, or with more than one character, to keep others out.
What happens
Part of this the world does by itself, by the duel numbers right below. The
rest is decided by the world owner, case by case, and he can be wrong: a person
reads what happened before any punishment, and a banishment can be contested by
opening a ticket from the account page — a banned account can still open
one.
Player against player
- It starts at level 8. Below it nobody can attack you, and you cannot attack anybody.
- Whoever strikes first wears a white skull for 15 minutes.
- The skull turns red at 3 unfair kills within 24 hours, or 5 within 7 days.
- At 6 unfair kills within 24 hours, or 10 within 7 days, the account is banished.
- Each unfair kill expires 7 days after it happened, one at a time — the oldest falls first.
- A banishment lasts 3 days. From the 4th warning on the account it lasts 7 days, and from the 50th the character is deleted.
- An IP banishment lasts 24 hours.
Type /frag in the game to see how many unfair kills you carry in the day and in the week, how many are left in each before the red skull and before the banishment, and when the oldest one falls.
